WE ARE THE FIRST LODGE IN THE CUYABENO NATIONAL PARK IN ECUADOR. OUR UNIQUE LOCATION DIRECTLY ON THE LAGUNA GRANDE MAKES US THE PERFECT BASE FOR EXPLORING THIS AMAZING AREA
The CUYABENO National Park in Ecuador’s Amazon Region is one of the most spectacular places on earth. Over 602,000 hectares of primary rainforest with an incredible variety of Neotropical wildlife: river dolphins, caimans, anacondas, monkeys, spiders, and butterflies are just some of the animals you can find here. The bird life is spectacular as well, it includes the prehistoric-looking hoatzin, the umbrella bird, toucans, parrots, macaws, and the legendary harpy eagle.
The rain forest continues to be the home to communities of ancient indigenous tribes such as the Siona, the Secoya and the Cofan who have lived in the Amazon basin for thousands of years.
Cuyabeno Lodge is the first Eco-friendly lodge built in the Cuyabeno National Park. We are the pioneers in offering Cuyabeno tours to visitors from all over the world. When Cuyabeno Lodge began operating in 1988, we believed that the rain forest traveler should be accommodated in conditions harmonious with the surrounding environment. That is why our lodge is built from ecological materials and fits perfectly in the jungle landscape. We also wanted to make sure that our guests feel comfortable, so you will find clean bathrooms, hot water, great food, and a staff that will take care of you.
The Cuyabeno Reserve and our Cuyabeno Lodge are unique places in the Amazon rain forest. Travel with us and experience the wonders of the rain forest from the best location on the Laguna Grande.
